The members were listed for every meeting held and detailed accounts of all the income and expenditure in a month within the committee.

    The compilation of these letters’ is dating back to the 22 of October 1861. He wrote letters about the opening of new churches or places of worship as he called them. He preached and uplifted the gospel to heathen through his writings and in churches.

    A compilation of letters that were stamped at the South African Native College and signed by the Senior Clerk of assembly, during the year of 1923. J. Lennox was the Senior Clerk that year but years before that he was a Concession Registrar.

    The Town of Alice

    A brief historic story of a small town in the Eastern Cape and a compilation of pictures of the historic places and monumental buildings. Alice was the capital of the district of Victoria East in the Cape province situated on the main railway line between East London and Cookhouse junction about 80 miles from East London and 42 miles from King Williams Town. This is an interesting read about Alice in the early 1800s, the Thyume Massacre, Municipal records, Parish Church of St. Bartholomew, The Roman Catholic Mission and of course Lovedale and South African Native College which is formerly known as the University of Fort Hare.

    Tiyo Soga's Journal
    (University of Fort Hare, 1936) Tiyo Soga
    Reverend Tiyo Soga was born in 1829 in Tutura near Gcuwa in the Eastern Cape and died on the 12th of August in 1871. He was a renowned journalist, minister, translator and composer of hymns. Fisrt entry on this journal was on the 20th of April 1857. He only documented minor details of his days from that day up until the 30th of August. This journal was presented to the University of Fort hare by his son, Reverend John Henderson Soga along with Rev. Tiyo Soga's letter book and Bible.
