John Bennie's Bible

Abstract

John Bennie was born on the 26th of October 1796 in Glasgow and died on the 9th of February 1869. He was a Presbyterian Minister, Missionary and early Xhosa Linguist. Also, one of the finding fathers of Lovedale Mission Station established in Ngqika. This bible was put into the hands of John Bennie at his designation to the work of a missionary to the heathen by the Glasgow Mission Society and a memorial of that transaction containing all the instructions, warning invitation, grace holding consolation of strength to the heathen.
