The ushering in of the 21st century has brought about many changes in the workplace. The fact that the organizations are part of the global village means whatever changes that are taking place in one comer of the world will have a direct or an indirect effect on the whole organizational structure. One of the areas that have recently been given more attention is that of capacity development of employees within the organizations. Many organizations have realized that, as it used to be in the past, the qualifications that the employees have are not the only answer to solve the problems faced by many organizations regarding job performance. The information technology age has put a lot of strain on many organizations in that they have to either adapt or be swept away by the winds of change.en_ZA
