dc.description.abstractThe study will be conducted in Keiskammahoek a rural small-town in the Eastern Cape, a province which is considered the poorest in the Country. The researcher wishes to explore new ideas that would see the agricultural sector of the town contributing positively to the economy of the town. This study will also seek to explore various means on "How Can The Agriculural Sector Play A Positive Role In Boosting Local Economic Development In Keiskammahoek?" The study assesses whether LED interventions, especially agricultural programmes, improve the livelihoods of poor communities in the Amathole District Municipality. Data was collected by use of both qualitative and quantitative research methods through interviews and questionnaires, respectively.
