Abstract
This study aimed to establish the impact of entrepreneurship education on the inclination towards entrepreneurship among students at Technical Vocational Educational and Training Colleges (TVET) in the Amatole District, South Africa. It particularly aimed to explore and examine the roles of entrepreneurship education inshaping entrepreneurial intention. The research focused on students from three colleges situated in the Eastern Cape. Drawing upon theoretical frameworks including The Theory of Planned Behaviour, Shapero and Sokol’s Entrepreneurial Event Theory, The Social Cognitive Theory, and the Human Capital Theory, the study employed a quantitative research methodology. Data was collected from 225
participants through a survey instrument. The analysis utilized descriptive statistics and inferential statistical techniques, such as correlation and regression analysis. The findings highlighted the significance of entrepreneurial education in influencing entrepreneurial intention, revealing several motivating factors that drive students’ desire to initiate a business. Based on the findings, the research suggests that entrepreneurial programs and modules should equip students with the skills to think creatively and critically and foster a supportive learning environment to enhance entrepreneurial outcomes.
