dc.description.abstractthese are minutes of the Lovedale Missionary Institution which was founded on the 25th of November 1886 by the Mission Council of Kaffraria led by Dr Stewart for the purpose of assisting him in examining candidates for membership of the Lovedale Institution Church. The meeting was held in the Museum, New Building. The elders who were present are; Solomon Matolo,Timothy Makaba, Thomas Ntintili and John Knox Bokwe. in the absence of Dr Stewart, the last-mentioned elder was asked to take the chair and to minute the proceedings.
