Abstract
This study analysed enabling and constraining factors that impact on African women entrepreneurs in Berlin Area of King Williams Town in South Africa. The study was located within the broad category of qualitative research in order to study the phenomena in their natural settings. The researcher found the approach to be very appropriate since it helped to study women businesses in places where they operate their businesses to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that enable them to run their businesses and the challenges that inhibit their development. In-depth interviews were used to gather detailed information on how women operate their businesses. The research design was a case study with 10 female entrepreneurs
in the Berlin Area.
