The main purpose of this study is to investigate critically Mtuze's short stories. It has been undertaken because, while the treatment of the genre of the short story is popular in that it is written and read in Africa, literary scholars have largely ignored its existence. The aim of this study is to clarify some of the difficult aspects in interpreting the author's intentions which lie beneath the various literary theories and aspects such as theme, plot, character, language and style and theme.
