Risk & Vulnerability Science Centre

The Risk and Vulnerability Science Centre (RVSC) collection in DSpace at the University of Fort Hare provides access to the scholarly and research outputs of the Centre’s staff, students, and collaborators. This collection includes research articles, technical reports, policy briefs, and conference papers. The RVSC is dedicated to advancing research and innovation in the fields of climate change, environmental sustainability, disaster risk reduction, and socio-ecological resilience. Its work focuses on understanding and mitigating the impacts of environmental and climate-related risks on vulnerable communities, particularly in rural and semi-arid regions of South Africa. Through interdisciplinary collaboration with academic departments, government agencies, and communities, the Centre promotes evidence-based strategies for adaptation, sustainability, and resilience building. By preserving and disseminating these resources, the collection supports teaching, learning, and research while contributing to sustainable development and informed policy responses to global environmental challenges.
