dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to examine the effects of low-impact aerobic dance on the health-related fitness and self-concept of female students at the University of Fort Hare. Thirty-seven subjects, aged 19 to 24 years, participated in a low-impact aerobic dance programme three times per week for 10 consecutive weeks. Each session was approximately 50 minutes long and the subjects exercised at 70-85 % of their age predicted maximum heart rate.
