    The purpose of this report is to illustrate in greater detail research that has been undertaken into a particular land conflict. The report also demonstrates the potential value of research, not only in discovering the position in the rural areas but also in helping to facilitate progress on land reform. This material has been passed, in greater detail, to the regional government and has fed into the Border Rural Cornmi ttee' s attempts to broker land transfers.
