Job satisfaction and job involvement were used as independent variables in the study while organisational commitment was used as the dependent variable. Data was gathered from a random sample of 100 lower-level employees of the company· concerned. A questionnaire consisting of four-parts was used for data collection. To gather biographical and occupational data, a self-designed 40-item questionnaire was used. To measure job involvement, Kanungo 's (I 982) 10-item 5-point rating scale was used.
