Compared with the previous year or years there is, in some matters, little change, a shade of difference in the numbers, these being a little lower in some divisions and higher in others- the gross number being slightly larger: a great advance in the results as tested by Government and other Examinations, and by standard reached; and a great falling off in most of the trades department.
