However, very little is known about the black career woman, particularly the problems she experiences, her strengths which make her to move upwards on the occupational ladder despite her problems. This investigation explored these issues within a qualitative research paradigm, using a phenomenological approach. Ten black career women in the Border region were interviewed using a semi-structured interview to elicit responses about the problems they experience as black career women.
